About Knowledge Hub

Practical knowledge for not-for-profit leaders.

Our Mission

Each year, the Knowledge Hub brings together experienced professionals who share practical knowledge on topics that matter to the not-for-profit sector. From legal compliance and financial management to governance and risk mitigation, our sessions are designed to equip leaders with actionable insights.

Who Attends

Board members, treasurers, executive directors, administrators, and volunteers from charities, churches, and not-for-profit organizations across the Greater Toronto Area. Whether you're running a small community group or managing a large charitable organization, the Knowledge Hub has something for you.

Format

The evening begins with a networking reception, followed by expert-led presentations and Q&A sessions. Light refreshments are provided. A livestream option is available for those unable to attend in person.

Who should attend Knowledge Hub?

Anyone responsible for running a charity, church, or not-for-profit in Canada — directors, clergy, treasurers, executive directors, administrators, accountants, lawyers, and volunteer coordinators. Content is tuned for Canadian legal and tax context (CRA, provincial law) and works equally well for small community groups and larger registered charities.

How much does it cost to attend?

Tickets for Knowledge Hub 2026 are $15 – $30 CAD. Pricing is intentionally kept low so cost is never a barrier for small organizations. Proceeds go to UCSS Toronto and the event organizers to cover venue and production costs.

Is there a livestream for people outside Toronto?

Yes. The presentation block from 6:30 – 8:15 PM EDT is livestreamed to registered remote attendees. The networking reception at the start and end is in-person only. Livestream access is included with registration.

Are recordings available after the event?

Yes. Session recordings are published on our YouTube channel a few weeks after each event and embedded on the individual past-event pages. Speaker-specific recordings are linked from each speaker's profile page.

What topics do Knowledge Hub sessions cover?

CRA compliance for registered charities, director and officer liability, litigation risk, GST/HST and indirect tax for not-for-profits, governance and board structure, financial reporting and audit preparation, cybersecurity and AI for small charities, and employment and volunteer management. The speaker lineup changes each year but the focus stays practical.

How can my organization sponsor or partner with Knowledge Hub?

Visit our Partners page for current sponsorship tiers and contact details. Sponsor contributions underwrite event costs, keep ticket prices accessible, and support the post-event production of recordings and resources that remain free for the whole sector.
